Andrea holds an EdD from the Boston University School of Education in Developmental Studies (Language, Literacy, and Cultural Studies) and a master's degree from the University of Szeged, Hungary in English Language and Literature with American Studies.
Andrea is an Instructor in the Childhood Education and Family Studies Department at Missouri State University. She also serves as research associate for Project SPEAK, a Title III national professional development grant at Missouri Southern State University.
Andrea's research interests include the eventual outcome of late-onset (age 10+) second language acquisition, second language vocabulary, academic language, teacher training for English language learners, particularly in rural/migrant settings.
Andrea is the joyful recipient of the Christopher Brumfit 2008 PhD/EdD Thesis Award by Cambridge University Press and the journal of Language Teaching.
